On Saturday 2nd November at the 2019 Clubs & Community Awards, Club Liverpool was awarded as a Winner in the Emergency Services category for our Partnership with the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter.

Club Liverpool is very proud to be recognised with this prestigious Award and we are very proud of our longstanding partnership with the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter.

Club President Dallas Stewart, along with members of the Board of Directors and Club Management were present at the Awards Night to accept the Award.

WESTPAC LIFESAVER RESCUE HELICOPTER

For over 20 years Club Liverpool has partnered with the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service.

The partnership began in the mid 90's with the helicopter being a beneficiary of the Clubs Charitable Bingo sessions. Over the past 10 years it has also been financially supported as part of the Club Liverpool Club Grants program.

The success of the relationship stems from both the Club and the Helicopter Service having mutual values to support the community.

The funding provided by Club Liverpool assists with the huge costs associated with running the Westpac Life Saver Helicopter service, this includes the ongoing costs of training and fitting out the crew members as well as providing rescue equipment and fuel.

On Tuesday 29.05.2018, the Helicopter came in for a very dusty landing on the oval at Miller Public School as part of it's Little Ripper School Education Program.
Kye Hurst was on hand to explain to the Kids the important work the Helicopter does for the Community. The kids learnt about the types of rescue operations performed by the Helicopter, as well as the kids having the chance to ask questions of the pilot and crew. The kids then got to have a tour of the helicopter which they loved.

"Club Liverpool proudly supports the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter, and it has been fantastic for the Club to be involved with the Helicopter Service as it has evolved from it's early days of an ocean rescue helicopter service into the full ocean and land rescue service that it has become today. Club Liverpool's contribution greatly assists towards helping this vital service to continue and remain a free service to not only the local Liverpool community, but many communities throughout the whole of NSW". Club Liverpool CEO - Mr Peter Suggett.

NURSING SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

For over 20 years, Club Liverpool has proudly supported Liverpool Hospital through sponsorship of the John Edmondson V.C. Memorial Club Nurses Scholarship Award.

Our support by way of Club Grant funding for these Scholarships, allows 10 Nurses each year to attend a Development Course, which is held at Liverpool Hospital and runs for 5 days in length.

The course is designed for Health Care Professionals who are responsible for developing, implementing or researching practice development strategies and addresses the inter-relationships between practice development, effective healthcare practice, evaluation, context, culture, leadership and skilled facilitation.

This is a highly sought after course by the Health Care Professionals who work at Liverpool Hospital and the Nurses are invited to apply to receive the Scholarship which allows them to attend the Development Course.

Club President - Mr Tom Jones, Deputy President - Mr Dallas Stewart were in attendance to congratulate the recipients for the 2018 Awards.
